about

I am an artist based in South Africa, occasionally living and working in Italy. Born in 1982, I am self taught, and my practice grows from attention, silence, and the decision to let a work remain unresolved.

I make abstract works that test the limits of what can be seen and what can be said. I am drawn to the threshold where an image almost appears, then withdraws, and where communication becomes part of the artwork rather than something added afterward. What I choose to hold back is as deliberate as what I choose to show.

My visual work is guided less by the noise of outside demands and more by an inner discipline. I try to follow my own philosophy, my own questions, and my own pace. I am interested in how meaning moves through absence, how presence can be felt without being performed, and how a viewer’s curiosity changes when the obvious is refused.

I do not treat art as a finished statement. I treat it as a living space, built from limits, interruptions, and quiet forms of resistance. The goal is not to explain everything, but to create an encounter that stays with you.
